Often called London by the Sea, Brighton offers students a fun and exciting seaside experience. Located at the University of Brighton, the centre offers a safe campus location on the city’s edge, with lessons and activities located in the heart of the city and near the seafront.

Brighton is a great location to explore the South Coast, London and Cambridge, as well as enjoy fantastic activities. It offers much of the excitement of London but in a much smaller city, ideal for students who want fun excursions but the safety and peace of an out-of-city campus.

The Varley Park campus at the University of Brighton offers high quality, modern bedrooms and facilities, located near the stunning South Downs National Park. Our staff will escort students to their lessons in central Brighton on a short bus ride.

The Houses: Students are housed in two separate dorms, Bowlers & Main Corridor. Bowlers is a short walk across the pristine cricket field to the main school and is a purpose built dormitory that looks over the beautiful manicured lawns of the Cothill House estate. Main Corridor dormitory is based in the main school building which also houses the dining room and assembly hall. Both of our dormitories have exclusive use of common areas where students can mix and interact with each other.

Young Learners Programme

Why This Programme?

Every summer, Castle School offer international young learners the chance to study with them and take part in their popular Young Learners Programme.

Students will spend the first half of their day learning English in our mixed nationality classes. In the afternoon, students will be able to spend time socialising with their new friends and classmates, taking part in a wide range of fun activities to keep them entertained until it’s time to go home.

At the weekend, we guarantee one full day excursion to one of the UK’s top places of interest such as Stonehenge, Windsor, Cambridge and more, plus a half day excursion to a more local destination. All of our weekend excursions and afternoon activities are supervised by our caring and friendly Activity Leaders.

Course Information

Please note that all students aged 12-15 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18, or be part of an international school group, if they wish to stay in host families. A magnet for young people from around the world, the lively seaside town of Brighton with it beaches, pier, fun fairs and many local festivals is the perfect choice for our junior programme. Brighton is ideally located for exploring the best of the UK with London just a 50-minute train journey away. The school buildings are located in the Hove area of the city close to shops, cafes, leisure centre and the beach. We combine structured English classes with a busy programme of activities, as well as half and full-day excursions.

Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires, has long been a favourite destination for students from around the world. The centre in Headington, just 10 minutes by bus from the centre of Oxford, is a safe and relaxed environment where students will be able to improve their English language skills. The campus is full of character with modern classrooms, a student canteen and extensive grounds. This centre has a maximum of 80 residential students per week. Canteen facilities are on the college grounds, making it a perfect location to come, study and enjoy Oxford. The new, modern student residence is only 15 minutes on foot to the main campus.

Oxford Junior Summer Course

Why This Programme?

This is a programme for junior students (ages 12– 17). Lessons are Monday to Friday, and help students with their day-to-day use of the English language. while also touching on areas of English life such as its history, culture and food.

Our social programme is included as part of this course and offers daily tours, cultural experiences and activities. In addition, a full-day tour at the Weekend, to destinations around the South East of England, ensures that teen learners are never bored!

We offer both residential accommodation, near the campus where our teaching takes place, and homestay accommodation with carefully selected local families.

English Skills
On arrival, you’ll be given a written and oral test and placed into an English Skills class appropriate for your age and level
Develop core skills as you communicate effectively in spoken and written English. Classes are lively, interactive and fun e.g. Royal roleplays – research a day in the life of King Charles, write interview questions, imagine his answers.
